And if a REAL member comes here and sees 850 members are mostly inactive, they'll resist joining and think this is just a bot-wasteland.

I can't even read that name, but KHI has several names like that I'm sure of it. Tell me, are they hurting anything at all right now? If and when they all start posting spam and crap will I be worried by it. As of right now, I see them as nothing worth thinking about, so I don't. Besides, we don't know which members are real and which are bots.

And KHI is WAY more mainstreamed than this site. Would you want to wait for these people to start posting crap or just take action before it happens.

i.e.: If you saw Osama Bin Laden holding a bomb ready to blow up New York while you had a gun, would you just sit there and let Manhattan get nuked or shoot him and prevent bad things?

Obvious spam bots can go, but what about the nonobvious? Are you sure all of those members are spamers? Personaly, unless they prove they are bots, I think they should be left alone.

That's stupid, you can see a bomb, you can't see intentions of people you have never even seen before.

You can see a bomb just like you can see a bot. And whether that bomb is ticking or not, you must make sure it doesn't go off.

Ok, tell me, if a member came on with a name of random letters and numbers, like nrc5, how would you know if that was a bot or a person? Someone could be a smartalec and decide to come on with a name that seems to be an advertisement. How could you tell if they were real or not until they acted?

Send them a PM, and if they get online and don't open it, its obviously a mod.

And the admins can send mass e-mails to make sure whos a bot and whos not.

Oh, so you are able to tell when and if a PM is opened? How is it obviously a bot if someone chooses not to read a PM? A year ago, I didn't even read my own PMs because I wasn't allowed to, no matter who it was from.
